This week's Sunday Sevens

July20, 2020

This week I have been on the rob, drunk cocktails and floated in the sea, as well as neglected home-school, cared for an eight-year-old doggy, worried about porta-cabins and laughed a lot.

This week's post is sponsored by the filter sepiall! I do get carried away innit.

This week, as the summer holidays started and proper school in September is looming, home-school sadly ended. Girlie said she wanted to clone herself, so that she'd stay home with me, while the clone went to proper school... "WHAT! NOO! I don't want TWO of you!".

There's bound to be a 'what-did-you-do-with-her-she-can't-even-read-now-letter' from the headteacher, but the porta-cabin hidden behind the school is so cosy. All those children crammed in there, because their parents were too busy skipping through fields spouting on about "everything is a learning opportunity, man". Good luck to the teachers and the kids.

I had a few afternoons in the garden, reading and writing, and laughing to myself. I like to earwig what the neighbours are up to (nosy) and I heard some incredible singing coming over the fence, which made me smile. Love our neighbours!

I had to say goodbye to work this week; redundancies. I'm very positive about it, and looking forward to lots of new things. Plus, when I went to give my computer back, I did something I have wanted to do for years. Don't tell, but I've had my eye on the alliums, which grow in the grounds, ever since the garden was installed. Giant ones! Now that they have flowered and reduced to seed heads, they were just lying about and needed 'tidying up'. Three jumped into my car and came home with me. I'm having them, and I don't mind going to prison! I'm getting the seeds and I'm going to grow a patch of them. It's my 'carriage clock' and I'm keeping them!

You may not know this, but being made redundant means cocktails. Who knew? Sunny day by the sea, drinking cocktails with fellow 'winners' - perfect! I had a lot, I was drunk, I was hungover!

This week I swam in the sea with Girlie and we found lots of seaglass too! Mr V did take pictures of me in my bikini swimming but no one needs to see that! A beautiful day that reminded me of this song (not sponsored by sepiall)...

It was Girlie's eighth birthday! Wowsers! We had a lovely day and she had fun. One of her favourite TV cartoons is Gravity Falls, so she got lots of presents related to that, including this bobble head. But, she also wanted a dog bed. We don't have a dog; she wanted it for herself. So, that's going to be a tough chat with the teachers when she goes back and says she sleeps in a dog bed! Porta-cabin dog-bed child with a mother in prison!

So it has been a fun week, and I also found my old watercolour set, which has been a little treasure I'm glad I bought ages ago. It's good to stop and just play, and so that's what I'll be doing in prison next week. I'll be honest with you, when I chose to do these pictures in sepiall filter, I didn't think about this particular image which is so colourful. So you'll have to imagine how lovely the colours are. I'll try and not get carried away with filters next week too. Prison does that to you!

Have you been a liberal home-school teacher? Do you rob seeds? Have you ever heard of sepiall?
